If you live in Northern California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, or Wyoming — your Chinese visa must go through the San Francisco Chinese Consulate. And the SF consulate does not accept mail directly from individuals: all applications must be submitted in person or by an authorized agent. That is exactly what we do. You mail us your passport, and we handle the SF consulate drop-off on your behalf — no flight required.
Our China visa mail-in service covers the entire process: we guide you through the mandatory COVA online application at consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/, review all your documents before submission, drop off and pick up your passport at the consulate at 1450 Laguna Street, San Francisco, and return it to your door via tracked USPS mail. Standard service takes 9–12 business days total from the day we receive your passport. Express service takes 7–10 business days. Both options include return shipping.

COVA (China Online Visa Application) is the official Chinese government digital visa system, launched September 30, 2025. It replaced the older paper-only process. Every person renewing a Chinese visa in the United States — including through a mail-in agent — must now complete a COVA application at consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/ before their documents can be submitted to a consulate.
COVA is straightforward — most applicants complete it in 5–10 minutes online. You fill in your passport details, travel history, and visa type, then print and sign the form. It does not require a lawyer or specialist. However, if you make errors on the COVA form, the consulate can reject your application — causing delays and requiring you to resubmit.
