China Visa Services for Seattle & Washington State Residents

Washington State is one of eight Western US states under San Francisco Chinese Consulate jurisdiction. Every city in Washington — Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Spokane, Redmond, Kirkland, Everett, Renton, and beyond — must submit China visa applications to the consulate at 1450 Laguna Street, San Francisco, CA 94115.

The SF consulate does not accept applications by mail from individuals. All submissions must be made in person or by an authorized agent. ChinaVisaMail.com is your authorized drop-off agent — you mail us your passport from Washington and we handle everything in San Francisco.

Do Washington State Residents Have to Go to San Francisco?

No — not if you use an authorized agent. The SF consulate allows applications to be submitted by a designated agent on your behalf. You mail your passport and documents to us, and we physically drop them off at the consulate, monitor processing, pick up, and return your passport via tracked USPS mail.

For Seattle residents, the trip to San Francisco means an 808-mile flight, at minimum two consulate visits (drop-off and pickup four days later), and two or more nights of hotel. For Spokane residents the distance is over 1,100 miles. Most Washington applicants who try to do it themselves end up spending $700–$1,200+ in travel and time costs alone.

Seattle has one of the largest Chinese-American communities in the United States — the Seattle metro is home to one of the top concentrations of Chinese-heritage residents outside California. Bellevue's Eastside alone has a large Chinese immigrant community, with thousands of tech employees at Microsoft, Amazon, and related companies traveling regularly to China. We offer full bilingual service in English and Mandarin (普通話). WeChat: 314187452

Important COVA note for Seattle applicants: When completing your COVA application, you must select San Francisco as your consulate — not Seattle (there is no consulate there) and not Los Angeles. Selecting the wrong consulate cannot be corrected — you must restart the entire application. We guide Washington State applicants through this to prevent the most common and costly mistake.
